It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edena “Fair” Jackson, beloved mother, sister, and friend, who departed from this world on August 28, 2025, at the Gila River Caring House. Edena, aged 67, was born on October 22, 1957, in Sacaton, where she began her journey through life filled with love and kindness.
Edenas’s warm spirit touched all who knew her. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—dancing to her favorite songs, sharing delicious meals she cooked with love, and enjoying outings to the local casinos. During the quieter months, she delightfully took to Sunday drives, cherishing those peaceful moments. However, once football and basketball seasons began, she became an unwavering fan, ensuring no one dared interrupt her during the games.
In her youth, Edena was an active participant in sports, excelling in softball and traveling to tournaments, where she made lasting memories. Her passion for entertainment shone brightly, whether it be attending PBR Riders shows or country concerts, she embraced every moment with exuberance.
Edena’s heart will forever hold her late son, Shane Manuel, who preceded her in death, along with her parents and her brothers, Perry and Charlton “Chuck” Jackson. She leaves behind a loving family, which includes her son Ian Manuel, as well as five devoted sisters: Eileen Kyyitan, Beverly Alvarado, Anna Gonzales, Ceila Ramos, and Marla Pico. She adored her grandson, Dyoni Jackson, and was cherished by aunts Willardine Pratt Lewis, Matilda Pratt, Sonia Antone, and Shirley Polingyouma. Additionally, she will be fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, grandbabies, and extended relatives from the Juan, Mix, and Allison families of D4, and the Manuel family whom she loved dearly.
A wake in Edena's honor will be held on Friday, September 12, from 6 PM to 10 PM at the District 3 Service Center. Her funeral service will take place at 6 AM on Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Sacaton, followed by burial at East Sacaton Cemetery. The arrangements are entrusted to J. Warren Cole and Maud Coolidge Chapel.
Edena “Fair” Jackson will forever be remembered as a beacon of love, joy, and resilience. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
