

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edwardine Lewis, 65, of Bapchule, who peacefully left us on August 15, 2025. Edwardine was born on May 8, 1960, in Sacaton to Edward A. Lewis and Barbara Setoyant. Her vibrant presence and warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Edwardine was a woman of many talents and passions. She enjoyed staying active, participating in chair volleyball, Zumba, and running. She also found joy in Toka, Basket Dancing, cooking, beading, and sewing—each activity reflecting her creativity and love for life. But above all, it was her beautiful soul that left an everlasting impression on everyone she met. A light that shone so brightly, Edwardine brought warmth and kindness wherever she went.
She is survived by her children, Marco E. Lewis and Odie F. Lewis of Bapchule; Ida Rodriquez of Laveen; Anastacio S. Rodriquez Jr. of Bapchule; Monique L. Rodriquez and Dominga Rodriquez of Santan. Her siblings, Enrique, Valentino, Jacqueline Lewis, Tina Reyes of Bapchule, and Glenna Johns of Laveen; as well as 33 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara J. Lewis, and her siblings: Patrick Johns Jr., Adrian Johns, Elizabeth Johns, Molino Lewis, and Bryan Lewis.
A service to celebrate her life was held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory. Edwardine’s legacy of love, strength, and light will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Rest in peace, Edwardine. Your spirit will never fade.
