Hector was a kind and compassionate young man with a heart of gold. Known for his generosity, he found joy in helping elders in his community, whether by cleaning yards, cooking meals, or chopping wood, he gave his time with love and without hesitation. Hector’s spirit was strong; he faced challenges with resilience, always rising ten times stronger after each fall.
He was funny, outgoing, and thoughtful, with a genuine desire to grow and listen to others’ perspectives. He dreamed of enrolling in Job Corps to pursue a degree in underwater welding—a step he hoped would open new doors and help him build a better future beyond the reservation.
Hector shared a special bond with his brother Manuel; a relationship grounded in both struggle and strength. He was a loving son who cared deeply for his mother, and a loyal brother who inspired those around him with his sincerity and courage.
Jesus has found His sheep—one of God’s children has been called home. While his presence is deeply missed, Hector’s light will continue to shine through the love of those who knew him.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Nicolette and Johnny Jose, his father and stepmother, Lawrence and Rosie Chavez; his siblings, Leticia Jose, Lawrence Chavez III, Andraes Chavez, Niellia White, and Manuel Chavez; his grandparents, Jeannie and Pedro Marquez, Joe and Alicia and many stepsiblings and extended family members.
His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community he served with kindness and compassion.
