Irene Faye Perez

Irene was married to the love of her life, Ariel, for over 40 years. She found her greatest joy in being surrounded by family, and she cherished every moment with her grandchildren.

A lively spirit who embraced life fully, Irene loved to dance, go to casinos, and simply have a great time. Her curiosity and enjoyment of the everyday were evident in her love of food and trying new things to eat. She also enjoyed relaxing with television—especially American Idol, AGT, The Voice, and a variety of crime shows—and she loved to travel. Irene’s affection extended to her beloved cat, Poochie, who held a special place in her heart.

Known for her generosity and steady strength, Irene was always willing to help anyone. Her door was always open, and to many she was “everyone’s mom”—a warm, welcoming presence with a hardworking nature and an easy ability to connect with others.

Irene is survived by her husband, Ariel Perez-Gonzalez Sr.; her children, Ramona, Yesenia, Ariel Jr., Jasmine, and Ofelia; her siblings, Lanette, Joyce, Valerie, and Sheldon; 16 grandchildren; and 1 great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents and 9 siblings.
