Jeffrey was a force of nature—his presence vibrant, his laughter unforgettable, and his heart expansive enough to hold space for so many. He lived with deep purpose and compassion, dedicating his life to lifting others up, offering guidance, and walking beside those in need of healing. His influence rippled through the lives he touched, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and service.
For the past 19 years, Jeff poured himself into the work of recovery and mental health, offering not just his expertise but his soul. His dedication was reflected in both his academic pursuits and his professional path:
● Associate of Applied Science from Glendale Community College (GCC)
● Bachelor’s in Behavioral Sciences from Western International University
● Master’s in Counseling with an Emphasis on Trauma
● Near completion of a *Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology
Jeff was a Licensed Associate Counselor and served as the Executive Clinical Director at Changes Healing Center. In this role, his leadership, clinical knowledge, and empathy transformed lives. His impact in the recovery community was extraordinary—he sponsored 487 men on their journeys to sobriety and was actively supporting 72 at the time of his passing.
While his professional accomplishments speak volumes, those who knew Jeff understand that his true gift was his character. He led with generosity and offered his heart freely. To many, he was more than a counselor—he was a mentor, a friend, a father figure, and a steady hand through life’s darkest storms.
Jeff is survived by his beloved son, Steven Baker, and family; his brother, Terry Baker, and family; his sister, Stacey Tardif, and family; and fiancee Laura Elizabeth Switzenberg and family. Each of them held a special place in Jeff’s life and brought him immense pride and joy.
Though his physical presence is no longer with us, the spirit of Jeff Baker endures—in every life he helped save, every heart he helped heal, and every person he inspired to believe in something better. His absence is deeply felt, but his light will never fade.
