It is with heavy hearts that the family of Randal Robert Paton Reed Sr., 68, of Coolidge, AZ, announces his passing on July 25, 2025. Born in Los Gatos, California, to Max and Margaret Reed, Randal grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of the coastal Redwoods of Northern California. He spent his early years hiking the hills, fishing in lakes, streams, and oceans, and exploring the great outdoors. His love for nature would continue throughout his life, particularly through his passion for photography.
Randal's adventurous spirit led him to a career as a truck driver for over 30 years, where he drove everything from local routes to flatbeds, step decks, and double rolloffs. His love of photography blossomed during his travels across the lower 48 states, capturing the stunning beauty of the land he traversed. He would often add scripture to his photos, reflecting his deep faith and connection to God. Though he had a stern demeanor, Randal was a sensitive soul, with a heart full of love for his family, his faith, and the things that mattered most to him.
He was a devoted father and always made time for his children, offering unwavering support throughout their lives. His love extended to his church family at the New Hope Community Church of God in Christ in Coolidge, where he felt a deep sense of belonging.
Randal is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Faye Reed; children Randie Juliana, Randall Jr.; and his stepchildren Cory Dean and Aaron Michael. He is preceded in death by his parents, Max and Margaret Reed, and siblings Alessandra I. Baranzelli, Gary E. Reed, and Maria I. "Mitzi" Baranzelli.
