Richard Mario “Rick” Mendoza, age 62 of the Gila River Indian Community, AZ passed away Monday June 30, 2025, in Chandler, AZ. He was born November 1, 1963, in Phoenix, AZ to Phillip Mendoza and the late Mary “Phyllis” Hernandez.
Rick, the eldest of his siblings, found his independence at a young age. Rick spent a lot of time outdoors, whether he was at his job or hitting some golf balls after work. During his off time, he spent time watching sports, listening to music and visiting with family and friends. Rick enjoyed making others laugh and had a unique way of showing care for his family, often through actions rather than words.
Rick was preceded in death by his mother Mary, sister Darlene and brother Robert. He is survived by his father Phillip, daughter Elaina Mendoza, sister Victoria, grandchildren; Neylan, Reylan and Ryanne Kyyitan, Darren Vasquez, Aronel Webb, Erin Webb, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00am, Saturday July 26, 2025, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church Mission in Santan, AZ with the burial to immediately follow at St. Anne’s cemetery.
