Vernon Benedict Juan, 80, died on July 26, 2026. Born December 13, 1945, in Sacaton to Grace Juan, Vernon’s life was marked by steady devotion—to faith, to country, and most of all to family. He resided in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Vernon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Scottsdale Papago Ward, and an Army Veteran. In each of these commitments, he carried himself with quiet dignity and a deep sense of responsibility. Those who knew him best will remember the constancy of his presence and the genuine care he showed to the people he loved.
A true cowboy at heart, Vernon found joy in the simple, enduring things—his animals, especially his horses, and the rhythm of a good dance. He loved to dance and to attend Chicken Scratch dances, where his appreciation for tradition and community could be felt in every step.
Vernon cherished his family and loved his grandkids very much. He is survived by his sons Lorenzo Juan, Antonio Juan, Ruben Juan, and Deswood Juan, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Benrita, and his siblings, Melton Juan, Cecil Juan Sr., and Dale Juan.
