Victor is survived by his beloved wife, Veronica Perea; his children, Venessa Perea, Valerie Perea, and Victor Perea Jr.; his 14 cherished grandchildren; his mother, Frances Perea; his three sisters; his brother; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were forever touched by his kindness and friendship. He is preceded in death by his father Armando Perea.
Victor's greatest pride and joy was his family. He shared 44 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life and junior high school sweetheart, Veronica Perea. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, faith, and unwavering devotion to their children and grandchildren.
Victor was born on December 23, 1963. He dedicated his life to serving others with honor, integrity, and unwavering commitment. In 1981, he proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving as a Marine rifleman. The discipline, courage, and loyalty he learned during his military service remained a part of who he was throughout his life.
Following his military service, Victor devoted more than 20 years as a Correctional Officer before retiring. Never one to sit still; he later began a second career as a building maintenance facility worker, retiring just 12 months before his passing.
Victor was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, caring son, cherished brother, loyal friend, and a man whose presence could light up any room. He was known for his generous heart, infectious sense of humor, protective nature, and stubborn determination. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, share a laugh, or offer words of encouragement to those who needed them.
He found happiness in the simple things in life—hunting, fishing, carefully sharpening his favorite knives, relaxing with family, and creating memories with those he loved most. Family gatherings were never complete without Victor preparing some of his favorite traditional dishes, including menudo, pozole, chorizo, and tripas. His love was often expressed through his cooking, his stories, and the time he spent with those around him.
Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Victor's legacy lives through the values he instilled in his family, the lives he touched through his service, and the countless memories he leaves behind. His laughter, strength, wisdom, and unconditional love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
"A life well lived leaves footprints on the hearts of those left behind."
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts.
