Adeline S. Arnold

The dearly beloved wife of Frank Arnold died Friday, 25 January 2013, at New River Nursing Home in Monticello, Minnesota. Adeline, known affectionately as 'Addie' to her family and friends had long struggled with the devastating effects of dementia.

The youngest of ten, born in a small township in Iowa to the already large Showalter family, Addie was a model of faithfulness and loyality to both her family and her work in the early technology days of Honeywell and Federal Cartridge/Hoffman. The joy of her life was her faithful husband and her children Wayne and Caroline. Originally, married in 1950, the Arnolds raised their family in Fridley, Minnesota, later moving to a home in Coon Rapids. After retirement, Addie and Frank relocated to Delano for a short while, and eventually built a home in Elk River.

Addie is survived by husband, Frank Arnold; son Wayne with wife LuAnn, and daughter Caroline with husband David Barnes. Her pride and joy include grandchildren Andy, Sandra, Joshua, Jonathan, Micah, Katrina and one great grandchild, Jaden. Addie's special extended family also included Frank's brother Walt with his wonderful wife Clarice and their children Lynn and Babs and families.

A special note of gratefulness is to be made to so many friends and neighbors in the Elk River and Monticello communities who assisted with the support of Addie's illness as Frank, now 92 years old, struggled as the caregiver for many years. Faith in Action has been an outstanding support, as well as the excellent staff of the New River Nursing Home and the staff of the Guardian Angels community. A special thank you goes out to Dr. Paul Erickson and his wife, Carla, who have walked side by side with Frank through these difficult times.

A memorial service by Father Johnson of Epiphany Catholic Church will take place on Tuesday, January 29, 11am at Gearhart Funeral Home in Coon Rapids. Internment will be at the nearby Morningside Memorial Gardens Cemetary. The immediate family will receive family and friends before the service at the Gearhart Funeral Home, starting at 10am.
