Arthur John Tidd

Age 76 of Coon Rapids, passed away on 6/25/16.

Born in Port Jervis, NY 1939 to Dorothy and Milton Tidd, he was an only child.

Art entered the United States Army in 1958 where he retired in 1981 with a rank of E-8 Master Sargent. He then became a Federal Marshal from 1981-1982. After retiring in 1982 he finished his career in Civil Service from 1982 until 2005. He was proud of the fact that his only employer throughout his life was the U.S. Government.

His first tour was in Bad Hersfeld, Germany where he met his loving wife Karin of 55 years, during Lulu's Fest.

He was an avid sports fan. He loved the NY Yankees and the NY Giants as well as the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, as long as they were not playing against NY. He loved playing golf and when he was no longer able to play he would drive around the gold course to watch his friends play.

He loved his family including his four-legged grand animals.

Christmas was his favorite holiday. He love to decorate with his large collection of houses and figures even though it took him weeks to set up and drove Karin absolutely crazy.

He is preceded in death by parents, Milton & Dorothy; father & mother-in-law, Otto & Magdalene Bundrock.

Funeral service 2PM Wed. 6/29/16 at Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids. Visitation 1 hour prior. Interment 12PM Thurs. 6/30 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
