Blaine was born in Sebeka, Minnesota on February 2, 1928 to Edmund and Hilda Edmundson and passed away December 23, 2023 at 95 years of age.
Preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Hilda; daughter, Renae Munson; 3 sisters and 2 brothers; and grandson-in-law, Thomas Bringley.
Survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Lois; sons, Miles (Helen) and Ross (Jeanne); son-in-law, Dan Munson; grandchildren, Donald (Patty), Maralee, Kelley, Mike (Deanna), Aimee, Sara, Ben (Sarah), Krista, Matthew; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; honorary son, Larry (Sharon) and their sons, Nathan (Betsie), with 2 sons, and David (Nicole). Also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Blaine grew up on the Edmundson family farm in Sebeka, Minnesota. He had 3 sisters (Julie, Gladys, Arleen) and 2 brothers (Earl, Albert). Blaine was the baby of the family. During his High School years he was very active in many sports, including baseball, football, basketball, and track (running events and pole vaulting).
Blaine married Lois Hemphill on March 1, 1952 and started their family; Miles, born in 1953, Ross in 1954, and Renae in 1955. In 1955 they sold the farm and moved from Sebeka to South Minneapolis where Blaine started working various jobs to support the family. He subsequently worked in a lumber yard, then for a construction company, and ultimately branched out on his own to start his career with Blaine’s Construction. Over the years he expanded to do real estate and residential development projects through Blaine Realty and Aspen Development, May 1964 through 2008.
The family moved to the Coon Rapids area in April 1956 where they were charter members active in the growth and development of Peace Lutheran Church. Throughout his life Blaine enjoyed traveling with family, the outdoors, and sports. He was a dedicated Twins fan and frustrated Vikings fan.
He was deeply loved and respected by friends and family alike, and his enduring smile will be missed.
Funeral Service 11:00 am Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Peace Lutheran Church (20 Northdale Blvd. NW., Coon Rapids) Visitation 10:00 am until time of service at church.
Interment Morningside Memorial Gardens.
