

Bonnie (Cook) Hills was born on September 11th, 1947 and passed away peacefully on March 14th, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota and is the third eldest of 11 children to Chester and Lucille Cook. She graduated from Spring Lake Park High School in 1966. On January 15th, 1972 she married her soul mate Robert “Bob” Hills. Together they had sons, Jason and Ryan.
Bonnie worked as an electronics assembler at Unisys for 29 years. The family lived in Coon Rapids until 1993 when they moved to North Branch, Minnesota. In 1998, they moved to Blaine. Bonnie most recently lived at the Sunrise Senior Living facility in Roseville, Minnesota.
Bonnie was a fun-loving, social and caring person. She was very proud of her two sons, Jason and Ryan. She adored her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved the color purple and country music singer Alan Jackson. Bonnie also loved animals, especially their dog, Sadie, who she took on walks often.
Bonnie and Bob loved being outdoors whenever possible. As a family, they spent many summers fishing and staying in their camper at the Cozy Corners Campground near Cold Spring, MN. Bonnie recently said that one of her fondest memories of Bob was sitting in their fishing boat and just enjoying the lake and each other. They loved to visit the casino together and also belonged to a bowling league for several years.
Bonnie is survived by sons, Jason (Jill) Hills, Ryan (Sarah) Hills; grandchildren, Julia, Justin and Anna. Brothers: Rod Cook, Doug (Darcie) Cook, Willie (Cheri) Cook, Terry (Denise) Cook, Mitch (Darlene) Cook, Tim Cook. Sisters: Bev Cook and Betty (Danny) Pittman. She also has many nieces, nephews and other friends and family she loved dearly.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Gene Hills. Parents, Chester and Lucille Cook and brothers Sidney Cook and Quentin Cook. Brother-in-law Dave Hills and Sister-in-Law LaDonna Balke, and beloved pet Golden Retriever “Sadie.”
Funeral service 10:30AM Wed. 3/20/13 at Church of St. Timothy, 707- 89th Ave. NE, Blaine. Visitation 4-7PM Tues. at Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids and 1 hour prior to the service at church. Private inurnment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
