Charles "Chuck" Henry Flansburg

Chuck was born in Brainerd, Minnesota, as the proud oldest sibling to his brother Cyril and sisters Kathy and Kristi. After graduating high school, he attended technical college for engineering. Around this time, Chuck met the love of his life, Vicki, at a dance when he asked her out onto the floor. After five years of dating, he asked her to marry him, beginning a devotion to one another that spanned nearly 50 years.

Early in his career, Chuck was hired at Johnson Screens in inside sales. Through his incredible work ethic, faith, and kindness, he advanced through the company over a remarkable 52-year tenure, eventually rising to Vice President. His career journey brought Chuck and Vicki to Evansville, Indiana, for five years, and later to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While living in Pittsburgh, Chuck was an active church board member and youth group leader, and the couple

made lifelong friends who became family. Traveling the world was part of his profession, and he built meaningful connections across many countries—earning him the affectionate nickname "Mr. Johnson" from friends, customers, and colleagues alike. Another promotion eventually brought Chuck and Vicki back home to the Minneapolis area.

Above all his professional accomplishments, Chuck’s family was his most treasured possession. His daughter, Alexandra, was the brightest light in his life and his most precious gift from God. Chuck was her biggest fan—coaching her soccer team and cheering her on through high school dance team and college hockey cheer. Later in life, Chuck earned his most beloved title of all: "GaGa" to his precious granddaughter, Giovanna ("The G").

Outside of work, Chuck enjoyed fishing, golfing, and cheering on both his Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings. Throughout every season of his life, his faith in God and his unconditional love for his family remained his highest priorities.

Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Vicki; daughter, Alexandra (Joe); cherished granddaughter, Giovanna; siblings, Cyril (Vicki Lyn), Kathy, and Kristi (Stan); brother-in-law, Gary (April); as well as many loving nieces and nephews—Matthew, Michael, Kim, Angie, Jesse, James, Brianna, Justin, and Travis—along with extended family and dear friends across the globe.

We will miss him deeply, but take comfort in knowing he is at peace with his Heavenly Father. Join us to celebrate Charles' life on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Family of Christ Lutheran Church, 16345 Polk Street NE, Ham Lake, MN, 55304.
