Cheryl L. Huso

Age 66, of Coon Rapids, formerly of Champlin, passed away Thursday November 3, 2016. She was at home, surrounded by family, at the time of her passing.

Cheryl is survived by husband, Keith and children, Kim (Tim) Knutson, Craig (Naomi Suzuki), Curtis (Nicole) and Kayle (Taylor) Hodne as well as six grandchildren, Bailey, Cameron, Carter, Mika, Graham and Harper. Also survived by sister, Dorothy (Mike) Vogel; brothers, Jim (Pat) Sunquist and Ken Sunquist Jr.; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and Ken Sunquist Sr.

Cheryl was born June 23, 1950 in Minneapolis. She graduated from Simley High School in 1968. In 1986 she received her LPN diploma. In 1972 she married the love of her life whom she met through her brother, Jim. Jim and Keith attended an Army school in 1970. On one of the frequent weekends home the two met at her parent’s Wisconsin farm. Cheryl’s defining quality was her heart’s capacity to shower love on anyone, whether she knew them or not. When she was not taking care of the nursing home residents over a three decade career, she was handcrafting gifts (often baby, lap or comfy blankets). Cheryl wished she would have been able to see her grandchildren grow. Cheryl cared about others far more than the average person even to the day she died. She learned well about caring for all people from her mother and from her grandmother, Judith Walgren.

Servant of Christ Lutheran Church,

740 E. Hayden Lake Rd,

Champlin, Minnesota

~Visitation~

will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at

Gearhart Funeral Home,

11275 Foley Blvd NW,

Coon Rapids, Minnesota

and 1 hour prior to the service at church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be to Compassion International or the donor’s choice.
