Eileen Irene Anderson (nee Brown) of Circle Pines, MN passed away March 16, 2019, at the age of 94. She was born May 28, 1924 and was the youngest of six children born to Richard and Margaret Brown.
Eileen was preceded in death by her Parents, Richard and Margaret Brown; and her Husband of 55 years, Orrin. Also preceding her was Ed McDevitt, her companion later in life. She outlived all of her Siblings; Harvey, Bertrum, Edmund, Leland, and Jean Riley.
She leaves behind seven Children; 21 Grandchildren; and 41 Great-grandchildren.
Eileen will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. Her children, Richard (Suzanne), Moses Lake, WA, Dianne (Don) Salmela, Plymouth, MN, Eugene (Roberta), Edina, MN, Marie (Gary) Beach, Coon Rapids, MN, Royal Anderson, St. Anthony Village, MN, LeShel Balgie, Circle Pines, MN and Jacki (Bill) Launderville, Inver Grove Heights, MN. We will miss her dearly.
She was born in Graceville, MN and raised in Chokio, MN. After high school she completed her Business Degree in Morris, MN.
Orrin and Eileen were married January 4, 1944. They lived in Ortonville, Thief River Falls and moved to Minneapolis in 1967. Eileen held many jobs including Augsburg Publishing, Peavey Co, Unity Hospital and eventually retired from Unisys Corporation.
While living in Thief River Falls she initiated a hot lunch program at St. Bernard’s elementary school. She was so successful the first year she made enough profits to buy a dishwasher and a potato masher for the kitchen. Not to mention that she went in early to make cinnamon rolls for the students. She furthered her career after moving to Minneapolis as a business woman moving up the ranks quickly due to her dedication and hard working skills.

The family wishes to express their sincere thank you and appreciation to the Fairview Health Team. The staff treated our mom / grandma with the greatest respect and caring. A special thank you goes out to one of the HHA’s, Karen, who was there almost every day and was an extremely bright spot in our mother’s day. Thank you all!!!
