Today marks the 1 year you have been gone and oh do I miss YOU! I miss just knowing your enjoying watching your Westerns all day on TV. I miss your sarcasm and your jokes. There hasn't been one day that went by that you were not in my thoughts. I think of you daily and always will! Mom misses you tons and is doing pretty good.

To all of Gus Wehmeyer's family, I want to express my sadness at his passing. I was one of Gus's "partners" on the patrol as well as a comrade in arms. Gus was old when he started on the patrol but because of his desire to serve/protect the public and the country, he set a great example for everyone to follow. When we worked together, on the "Dog Watch", we would always stop for coffee and a donut when our shift started at the donut shop in Moundsview.  One night we got a call for an injury accident and we all rushed out and headed to the scene. After we'd cleaned everything up we went back to the donut shop. What Gus found there was his Troopers hat! He had forgotten to take it when we left for the crash! But, the hat had a new shape! Seems that the donut shop staff steamed his hat and now it looked like a cowboy hat! He was a fun dedicated person to work with.

Dad - Just letting you know how much I miss you. I am going to miss pulling up in the driveway at anytime and finding you sitting out in the garage watching your favorite shows Gunsmoke or Hannity. You were always a great Dad that made us always feel loved and safe. Your cooking was the bomb and I will always remember that decorating a dish appeases the pallet. Thank you for showing me how to cut fruit and some vegetables into flowers. Oh you were one of a kind for sure and will NEVER be forgotten. I love you and will always miss you.

Gus,im going to miss you so much,your random phone calls and the secrets we shared..i have known you for around 20 years and in them years i relized and learned alot from you.you will be missed so much,i could not have asked for a better father inlaw or friend then you..love you tons,RIP my friend and know i will do everything i can to help your love jackie..

I am going to miss you dad! I am so greatful for all the fishing trips, camping, the simple, quiet moments where we just hung out. I love you so very much! It's not going to be the same,  but I know I will see you again someday and then we can go fishing together again!

I did not know Gus well but I do know he loved his family as you loved him so always remember as long as you live Gus will live through you. So don't let go of your memories because they will get you through this difficult time. And remember I'm just a phone call away if you need to talk.

I am so sorry to you, Mom, for losing your loving husband! He was a great man, father, friend and the best grandpa. I know it's going to be so hard for all of us, but know I am always here for you. He will be missed by many.  We will get through this and always cherish the great memories and laugh at the bad ones. I love you,  Janet
