Age 91. Born 7/16/1920, passed away peacefully in hospice care at Texas Terrace Nursing Home in St. Louis Park, MN on 11/13/2011. Irene fought a lengthy battle with dementia/ Alzheimer's since 1996. Irene was born in Evansville, MN to Martin Swenson and Clara Peterson. She was a longtime resident of So. Mpls, was a member of the VFW off Lake St. on 17th Ave., So. Mpls, the Star Spangled Banner Post #1149. She is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Donald Wesley Falaas. She is survived by sons, Gary Lee of Osseo and Donald DuWayne (Sandie Liesenfeld) of Blaine; 4 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed. Memorial service Wed., 11/16, 12 pm at GEARHART FUNERAL HOME, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
