James "Jim" Arthur Borman

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Loretta; second wife of 16 years, Natalie; parents Arthur and Lucy; brothers Don, Jack and John ‘Skip’ Borman; sister Mary Larson; grandchildren Mary, Matthew and Marie Borman, Gregory Fehringer, Matthew LaPierre.

Jim is survived by his children John (Annette) Borman, Pam (Don) Fehringer, Becky Lott, Steve (Tammy) Borman; sisters Pat Borman, Betty Davis, Bev Bumgardner; stepchildren Brenda (Tom) Campion, Linda Grue, Cindy (Randy) Holmes; many grandchildren/step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren/step great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Besides St. Louis, MO, Jim lived in LaCrosse, Eau Caire, Janesville, and Footville, WI. He lived in Dresbach, MN, where he graduated from Winona High School in 1950. He moved to Duluth, MN, where he worked at Zenith for 8 years. After working there for 3 years, he started attending the University of Minnesota-Duluth, while still working at Zenith, and graduated from UMD with a business degree in 1957. While attending college, he married Loretta 7/2/1955, and they had their first child, John, in 1956. They then moved to Minneapolis, MN where Jim became a bank examiner for the State of Minnesota, where he worked for 17 years.

While in Minneapolis, their daughter, Pam, was born in 1959. They then moved to Spring Lake Park, MN, where they lived for 15 years and their daughter, Becky, was born in1962, and son, Steve, was born in 1965. In 1974, they moved to Ham Lake, MN, and Jim started a new job as a bank examiner with Banco/Norwest/Wells Fargo where he worked for 15 years, before he retired at 57 ½. They moved to Moorhead, MN in 1984 and then on to Billings, MT where they were when he retired.

Jim & Loretta sold everything in 1993 and started full-time RVing through most of the United States until 2002 when they made Minnesota home again and moved into Realife Cooperative in Coon Rapids, MN. Loretta passed away in 2006 and on 8/1/2009 he married Natalie and they were married for 16 years, before Natalie passed on 3/19/2026. Jim and Natalie also enjoyed traveling the Unites State through bus tours.

Jim enjoyed traveling whether it was via tent/trailer in his earlier years, or RVing, bus touring, and even an Alaskan cruise. Through his life he had been to all of U.S. states except Hawaii. He also enjoyed woodworking, where he made beautiful bowls, pens, and blocks and truck/trailer sets for kids. He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards, scrabble, and board games.

Jim lived a full life and was a good and faithful servant for his Lord, spreading His Word everywhere he went. He always had a smile on his face and loved to share his humor with everyone!

Please join us to celebrate Jim’s life on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Mt Olive Lutheran Church, 700 Western Street, Anoka, MN. Visitation begins at 10 am with service at 11 am, and luncheon to follow. Interment at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids, MN at 1:45 pm.
