Janice Cleone Hanson

Jan was born on May 14, 1941 in Cando, North Dakota. Jan was blessed to spend her last days with her loving family by her side.

Jan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Donald Hanson; daughter, Kimberly Freitag; parents, Ben and Marie Benson; and brothers, Jack and John.​

Jan is survived by her son, David (Nancy) Hanson and their children Addy Bleicher (Tom), Ben, and Cory; son-in-law, Randal Freitag and his children Anna (Brandon), Andrew, Adam, and Alex. She is also survived by her sisters, Judy Ziegler and Joanne (Jerry) Bergin; her special friend, Marty Lueders; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Jan loved to spend her time sewing, cooking, gardening, going to Bingo, traveling to the family farm in North Dakota where she grew up, and spending time with family and friends.

Join us to celebrate Jan's life on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 61 Mississippi St. N.E., Fridley, MN. Visitation at 9:30 am, service at 10:30 am, and luncheon to follow. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fridley, MN and Cando Lutheran Church in Cando, ND.
