Kathleen "Katie" Carroll

Age 61

Passed peacefully into the arms of Our Lord and Savior on August 29th, 2019. Her long struggle with COPD is over.

Survived by beloved Sons, Sean Russell (Erin), Dan Russell (Sairey); Grandchildren Sully, Eva, Leo; Siblings Sue Wurdemann (Rick), Bud Carroll (Holly), Lisa Casper (Barry), Tim Carroll; Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Uncle, Aunts and a host of many loyal friends.

Katie's greatest treasure is her "boys" and her beautiful grandchildren. She was a loving sister, faithful friend and her huge kind heart was instrumental in helping many people in recovery over the years. Her faith was solid.

She liked to journal and write poems and was known for being able to decorate on a dime. We will miss her so much but know, it's not good bye...until we meet again.

So very saddened to hear of your loss. I’m sure Katie bore her illness with a grace and humor that was just like her. Never easy to lose your mom and sister and grandmother but I’m sure she is “with you “all in spirit and her love will guide you always! We know how she suffered and I’m happy for her that she is in a better place and her suffering is over! You all are in my thoughts and prayers as you make your way through this very difficult time! Dear Katie I know we lost touch with each other for too many years. I remember our time together at Andover Alano. I’ve thought about you many times. You will certainly be missed.

Katie, so hard to believe you are gone from us. Such a good and faithful friend. You helped so many get started and maintain recovery in so many ways - a life well lived. It was an honor to call you friend.

Auntie Katie was not only my aunt, but she was also my Godmother. Not only did she carry those titles, but she was also the most influential person in my life that encouraged me to get my life together and enter the world of recovery. When all others needed to keep there distance with good reason, my Auntie stood strong in my corner and encouraged me not to give up. I love you Auntie more than words could ever express. I already miss you soooo much..

Katie was my dear friend. She “adopted” me like one of her own and was my main role model for over a decade. Every important event in my life, Katie was at the forefront to celebrate with me. My wedding, the birth of my daughter, my graduation from nursing school... she always said “I love you” whenever she would see or call me, and I truly believe she did. She always tried to leave the world a little better than she found it. She succeeded in so many ways. I hope I can be half the person that Katie was in my lifetime.
Well done, good and faithful servant . Well done.
