Ken grew up on the family dairy farm outside of Lindstrom, Minnesota, where the steady rhythms of farm life helped shape a man known for quiet strength, steadfast responsibility, and deep devotion to the people and places he loved. He graduated from Lindstrom High School in 1966 and served in the United States Air Force for four years, four months, carrying forward a sense of duty and integrity that remained evident throughout his life.
In 1996, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the U of M, a meaningful milestone that reflected his perseverance and commitment to continued learning. He dedicated 29 years of his working life to Medtronic, where his reliability and steady presence were valued over the years.
Outside of work, Ken found lasting enjoyment in deer hunting and fishing—pastimes that suited his patient nature and appreciation for time spent outdoors. He also gave his time in service to others, volunteering with Bikes4Kids - Ham Lake, offering practical help with the same humility and consistency that marked so much of his life.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Toni, and his niece, Carrie Johnson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Stephanie; daughter, Amanda (Dave) Cornell; grandson, Joey Cornell; brothers, Leon (Pamela) Johnson and Brian (Mary Beth) Johnson; nephew, Cory Johnson; and numerous first cousins.
Ken will be remembered with respect and gratitude—for a life built on devotion, service, and the enduring value of showing up, day after day, for family, work, and community.
