Born on December 16, 1968, Kimberly was a fierce and loving mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. She loved without reservation and never hid how she felt. Protective by nature and unwavering in her convictions, Kimberly was the first to stand up for the people she loved. She was feisty, determined, and never one to back down when she believed she was right. Her strength wasn’t found in being the loudest person in the room, but in quietly observing, listening, and then speaking with honesty, compassion, and conviction when it mattered most.
Among her many interests, Kimberly was a devoted Trekkie, an avid Stephen King fan, and a puzzle enthusiast who enjoyed a good challenge. She found peace outdoors, whether relaxing on her deck or spending time at the family land up north. Those moments, surrounded by nature and the people she loved most, were where she felt most at home.
As an acupuncture practitioner, Kimberly found her calling in helping others heal. She believed in caring for the whole person and found genuine joy in seeing people regain hope, comfort, and health. Helping others wasn’t simply her profession—it reflected the generous spirit with which she lived her life.
More than anything, Kimberly’s greatest pride was her family. She was a devoted advocate for her children, encouraging them to become exactly who they were meant to be while never doubting that she would stand beside them through every challenge. She loved fiercely, celebrated their individuality, and created a home where they always knew they were deeply loved and unwaveringly supported.
Those who knew Kimberly will remember her fierce loyalty, her determination, her compassionate heart, and her willingness to fight for the people she loved without hesitation. She leaves behind a legacy of courage, authenticity, and unconditional love—a reminder to be yourself, to stand up for what you believe in, and to love your family fiercely, without reservation.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her mother, Carol Nelson; and her stepmother, Cisco Cosgrove.
Kimberly is survived by her husband of 30 years, Richard; her children, Bree, Ronan, Acacia, and Kaitlin (Jeremy); her cherished grandchildren, Salem and Damien; her father, Michael; her sisters, Shannon (Matt) and Amber (Joe); her stepfather, DuWayne; along with many extended family members, friends, and patients whose lives were touched by her kindness and care.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 18, at Kimberly’s home from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Food and drinks will be provided.
In lieu of flowers or memorials, Kimberly’s family invites those who wish to honor her memory to plant a tree in her name—a living reminder of the strength, growth, and enduring love she shared throughout her life.
