Leroy Frederick Ehnes

Leroy was the second youngest of four boys. He attended Clarissa, MN, public schools and graduated with the class of 1966. Leroy entered the Army after graduation, where he served for three years - one year stateside, and two years in Germany. Leroy worked for Honeywell in Golden Valley, MN, for 32 years. He also had a snow plowing business for 30 years, and worked hard to pass along the 180 acre family farm in Clearwater County to his son, Lance, and his family. Leroy belonged to the American Legion Post 560 in Zimmerman, MN.

Leroy was married to Carolyn (Benning) Ehnes for 59 1/2 years. They lived in Blaine for 43 years, then moved to Zimmerman, where they loved being closer to family.

Leroy was preceded in passing by his parents, Arthur and Bernadine Ehnes; brothers, Luverne, Duane, and Delbert; nephew, Jason Ehnes.

Leroy is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn; son, Lance (Emily) Ehnes; grandchildren, Kate and Brayden; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Join us to honor Leroy's life on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN. Visitation begins at 10:00 am, with service at 11:00 am, and interment to follow at 12:00 pm in Morningside Memorial Gardens, 11800 University Ave NW, Coon Rapids. Luncheon will take place at Gearhart following the committal at the cemetery.
