Age 96, of Spring Lake Park, formerly of Coon Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025, into the loving arms of her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by her loving family.
Lu was born July 29, 1928, in Duluth, Minnesota to Gustave and Selma Benson. She worked as an executive secretary for Standard Oil and then as a homemaker. Lu was a faithful member of First Baptist Church/Connections Church in Coon Rapids for 67 years.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 63 years, Clark; brothers, Clifford and Melvyn Benson.
Survived by her children, Tim (Pam) Howe, Dan (Jane) Howe, Robyn (Gary) Palmquist; grandchildren, Jared (Brittney) Howe, Nicholas Howe, Johanna (Ben) John, Katrina Howe, Erik (Corbyn) Howe, Laura (friend, Zachary Day) Palmquist, Zachary (Abby) Palmquist; great-grandchildren, Raynor, Kaija, Fredric and Dietrich John, Jaxson Howe, Ezra Howe, Isla Howe and baby Howe due in May; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service 11 am Thursday, February 27th at Connections Church (10936 Foley Blvd. NW., Coon Rapids) Visitation 4 pm – 8 pm Wednesday, February 26th at Gearhart Funeral Home (11275 Foley Blvd. NW., Coon Rapids) Visitation will continue Thursday from 10 am until time of service at church.
Interment Morningside Memorial Gardens in Coon Rapids, MN.
