

Maria was born in Tejutla, El Salvador on February 15, 1972. She is survived by her loving husband, Brent, and her two beautiful children Natalia and Adam Scheuren. She is also survived by her parents, Ursula Lazo and Valeriano Guerra, siblings Roberto and Luz, sisters-in-laws Alma and Holly, father-in-law Daniel, mother-in-law Carolyn, stepfather Albert, nieces and nephews Cynthia, Roberto, Daniel, Cassandra, Yurie, Hana, Erika, Maia, Amara, and Ken. She is preceded in death by brothers, Rene, Noe and Marvin.
She graduated from Van Nuys HS, and then later getting her nursing degree from Los Angeles Valley College in Van Nuys, CA. Maria dedicated more than 25 years as a healthcare professional, primarily in the operating room. She was a hardworking, dedicated Registered Nurse whose, number one priority was to be the best advocate possible for her patients. She started her nursing career in California working at Holy Cross hospital, Valley Presbyterian Hospital and NASA. She also worked as a healthcare professional in VA and TX before finishing her career in MN working at the University of MN and Accurate Home Care.
Maria met her best friend and love of her life, Brent Scheuren in 2001 in Hawaii. They got married in April of 2004. Together they had two beautiful children: Natalia (2005) and Adam (2007). The family had so many amazing adventures together. She loved activities like hiking, road trips, and trying new foods. As a family they traveled to Germany, Mexico, England, Austria, France, Italy, and Canada. She enjoyed the annual Scheuren family reunions in the UP and destination Thanksgiving celebrations with the Guerra-Rivera families.
Maria will always be remembered for her strength, inspiration, bravery and love she provided to those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm on Friday, March 15th at Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN. Family and friends are welcome.
