Mark spent his elementary years in the Plymouth, MN area. Then moving to Aitkin, MN where he learned to hunt, fish and dirt bike. He graduated with the Class of '86 in Aitkin where he made so many friends. He earned a 2 year associate degree from St Cloud State University but followed his passion he learned in his gap year, becoming a floor installer.
He met his wife Tamara while in St Cloud in 1987, and married her in 1990 in Verndale, MN. They bought their first home, that became their forever home, in Andover, MN in 1991. Mark and Tamara have 3 amazing children, son Brady and his girlfriend Madie, of Ramsey, MN, daughters Brynn and Brooklynn of Andover, MN. Mark retired early from floor installing in 2018 due to complications of a torn meniscus, that led to neuropathy in his feet.
He loved hunting and fishing in every spare moment and frequently went back "up north" to the Aitkin area where the family has property. In his years of hunting he traveled to the mountains of Idaho to get his elk. He proudly was selected to hunt and get his MN Moose up north past Duluth. He traveled to ND yearly with friends and son, for duck hunting, and down to Nebraska and Iowa for turkey hunting. Locally his passion was goose hunting and deer hunting. The family cabin was not on a lake because Mark went fishing for different fish, different times of the day and season, all on different lakes.
He will be missed by his mother, Jennie of Zimmerman; his brother, Steven (Stephanie) of Isanti; his sister, Brenda (Paul Blumentritt) of Tucson, AZ; sister, Christina of Rochester, MN; as well as many nieces and nephews. SO many hunting buddies and floor installer friends as well, will all miss him, his laughter and his stories.
Fly high Gooseman.
