Marlen "Mike" Peter Miller

Marlen “Mike” Peter Miller, a carpenter and long-time resident of Fridley, MN, passed away on August 23, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on November 23, 1935, in Fargo, North Dakota, Mike’s life was a testament to hard work, creativity and a life lived on his own terms.

On June 7, 1958, Mike married Jeraldine Dunkelberger. They were blessed with 3 children: Steven (Colleen), Susan, and Daniel. Their first home was in Moorhead, MN. They moved to Fridley, MN and built a home a few years later. They lived a full and busy life in a home that they loved.

Mike’s career as a carpenter was marked by dedication and passion. He took great pride in his work, building homes and engaging in meticulous finish work. In 1962, he constructed his own home, which became a labor of love as he continuously remodeled and expanded it. His craftsmanship extended beyond homes to beautiful furniture pieces cherished by family and friends. Among his creations, Mike was particularly proud of a roll top ladies’ desk he created for his wife, which earned 2nd place at the Minnesota State Fair.

In addition to his beloved wife, Jeri, Mike leaves behind his 3 grandchildren, Brooke (Joe Racho) Wools, Meredith (Clayton) Llewellyn, and Cameron (Ashley) Miller as well as his 7 great-grandchildren, Maverick, Tucker and Paisley Wools; Charlotte “Charlie” and Vivian “Vivi” Llewellyn; and Gracie and McCoy Miller. Mike also leaves behind his brother, Verdayne (Carol).

Mike was predeceased by his parents, William and Ruth Miller and siblings, Hallard, Orland, Wayne, Arlene, Roger, Richard and Bryce.

Though Mike has left this world, his spirit lives on through the lives he touched and memories he created. His family finds comfort in the knowledge that he now rests peacefully with his parents and siblings.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Mike’s memory to a charity of your choice.

A small gathering, to honor Mike’s life, will be held at a later date. The family extends their deepest gratitude for the love and support that they have received during this difficult time.
