Marvin A Schnickels

82 years old. Born October 11, 1932 in Morton, MN. Passed away on May 30, 2015.

Preceded in death by Wife Helen (Stevenson) Schnickels.

Survived by Loving Children Dawn (Daryl) Schnickels-Johnson, Steven, Marvin Jr., Mark (Diane), Gale (Scott) Chambers, and Kay (Bob) Buchman; adoring Grandchildren Stephanie (Andy), Missy, Michael, Jeremy, Michelle (Warren), Joey, Jeff, Brad, Rachel (Shawn), Jodi (Ed), Michael (Kirsten) and Davina (James); Great-grandchildren Sam, Abby, Paige, Isabel, Tillie, Halley, Hunter, Malachi, Tucker, Connor, Rafael, Katelyn, Kyle, Karlee and two on the way; Sister and Brother-in-law Dee and Irv Snyder; Sisters and Brothers-in-law Sue Hill, Tom (Janet) Stevenson, and Karen (Gary) Bakken; several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Preceded in death by Parents Frances and Louis Schnickels, Brothers and Sisters-in-law Vince (Lorraine) and Myron (Lynne).

Dad proudly served in the Army. He was a Staff Sgt. performing as a Forward Observer on the front lines in the Korean War. Dad was a dedicated Democrat. He worked for 43 years for Minnesota Transfer Railroad which became Minnesota Commercial. He was an active union rep. in BRAC serving as Treasurer and Lodge President. He retired as the Asst. VP/GM.

You were a wonderful, caring Dad and Papa. You taught us family always comes first and our weekly gatherings were filled with lots of food, laughter and music. You will be deeply missed by all of us, but we know the gates of heaven have opened and Mom and your loved ones were waiting for you, standing next to God. As a parent and a grandparent, you shared your love of music (especially Dean Martin) and always found a reason to have a party. This will be passed on to the many generations that follow. May you rest in peace without any more pain and go with the knowledge that we all loved you dearly and you were surrounded by love in your final hours. Special thank you to all the doctors and nurses who cared for him at Riverway Clinic - Andover, Allina Health Care System and Camilia Rose.
