She was born in Minneapolis, MN to John and Kay Goeser on May 25th, 1961. She grew up surrounded by the love of her four sisters and two brothers.
As a child, she attended Epiphany Catholic School in Coon Rapids, MN. During her attendance, she was described as “a delight to have in class but a Chatty Cathy”. Mary always had interesting things to say and could hold a conversation with anyone.
She graduated from Blaine High School in 1979. After graduating, she started working at Hooters Sportswear. There, she honed her sewing skills and became a very formidable seamstress. Mary then began working at Macintosh Printing and Embossing. After leaving Macintosh, she started doing bridal alterations with Angelique’s Bridal. Finally, she began making curtains and other home furnishings at Drapes Etc.
In 1991, Mary Martha married Christopher Hampton and became a homemaker. She dedicated herself to being a loving wife and caring mother - roles she embraced with love and joy. Together, they had three children: Rebecca Lyrenmann, Rosemary Hampton, and Michael Hampton. Mary’s devotion to her family was evident in every aspect of her life.
Her sewing skills were regularly put to use after her marriage. She hand-crafted beautiful garments for all members of her family to wear, created dolls and toys for her children to play with, blankets to use and admire, and mended rips and tears in favorite dresses and shirts.
Not only was Mary an excellent seamstress, she was an admirable cook. Every night, she made delicious homemade dinners to enjoy around the table. Mary also baked incredible birthday cakes in any shape you could ask for, including Larry Boy, Homestar Runner, a teapot, and a guitar. She truly made birthdays special.
Mary was a warm and wonderful woman. She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity and unwavering commitment to her family. She is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, her children, her children's partners Paul Lyrenmann, Nickolas Howell, and Kaitlyn Radke, her grandchildren, Leo and Teddy, her sisters Elizabeth (Delaine) Kirkeide, Jennifer (Arlyn) Kirkeide, Melanie (Guido) Bruyers, and Angela (Todd) Nelson, her brothers, John (Joan) Goeser, Andrew (Amy) Goeser, many nieces and nephews, and her parents.
May her memory bring comfort to all who loved her.
