Paul Leonard Caouette passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, hard work, friendship, and unwavering love for those closest to him.
Born and raised in Blaine, Paul graduated from Spring Lake Park High School in 1980. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1982 to 1984, carrying that sense of dedication and resilience throughout his life.
In 1987, he married the love of his life, Donna Berg. Together they built a life centered around family, raising two daughters, Jenni and Emily, who were a constant source of pride and joy to him.
Throughout the years, Paul worked at Povlitski’s, Clinch On Products, and in various driving positions. No matter the job, he was known as a dependable worker, someone willing to lend a hand and strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He never met a stranger and truly enjoyed “shooting the shit” with friends, neighbors, and anyone lucky enough to cross his path.
He was involved in his community and proudly served as President of the Spring Lake Park Lions Club for one year. He continued to give back and stay connected in his community, which brought him great fulfillment.
Paul found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved deer hunting, spending time outdoors, watching pro wrestling and movies, and especially enjoying Donna’s cooking. More than anything, he treasured time spent with his family. His three granddaughters and beloved grand dogs brought him endless smiles, and he adored every moment shared with them.
He will be remembered for his humor, storytelling, loyalty, and the way he made people feel welcome wherever he went. His absence leaves a tremendous void, but the memories he created will live on in all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Leonard and Lorraine.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Donna; children, Jenni (Derek) Schillinger, Emily Caouette (Nick Pierce); grandchildren, Jayce and Clara Schillinger, Everly Caouette; siblings, Tom (Joanne) Caouette, Sandy (Mike) Standridge, Barbara Anderson, Wendy (Dennis) O'Neil, and twin brother Mark (Lena) Caouette; beloved granddogs, Pluto and Toby; many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Kraus-Hartig VFW in Spring Lake Park. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor a life well lived.
