Age 76, of Blaine MN, passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Paul was born on February 11, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended Anoka High School. Paul retired from FMC/United Defense/BAE Corporation after 40 years of service completing a successful career in Property Asset Management. He was a standing member in the National Property Management Association, North Star Chapter, and at one time held the position of Vice President for said chapter.
Paul is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Johnson; mother, Gladys Peterson, and other family members.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Carol Johnson “CJ”; mother-in-law, Audree “GiGi” Wycoff; children Gwen (Jerry) Williams, Rebecca (Michael) Bunn, Mathew (Tanya) Coppins; step-daughter, Jessica (Scott) Miller; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; sisters, Diane Clark, Gayle Perkins, Nancy (Keith) Rosendahl; half-siblings David (Sue) Johnson, Loren Johnson, Michael Johnson, Cindy (John) Davison; also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides spending time with his family and friends, Paul had a passion for motorcycling (was a member of the Harley Owners Group HOG), photography, and attending and watching games of his favorite football team the Minnesota Vikings. His greatest passion was for music. He played the bass and had the reputation as one of the best bass players in the local music community. He loved all types of music and “jammed” on a regular basis with his good friends who referred to themselves as “The Retro Rockers”.
Paul was a very kind, soft spoken, quiet, and mild mannered person. He touched many lives with his generosity and kindness. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life event will be held on August 3rd, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Coon Rapids VFW, Post 9625, Coon Rapids, MN.
