Phyllis Daraitis

Phyllis was born June 20, 1946, to Laurence and Ione Miller and survived her birthday arrival. Phyllis graduated from Spring Lake Park High School in 1964 and has lived in both the Coon Rapids and Blaine area while raising her five children. She put herself through Nursing school to become an RN and continued that nurturing and caring path until her retirement.

Phyllis filled her life with activities that included her children and grandchildren and watched every sport they participated in. She was always in the stands cheering them on every season. She loved her family fiercely and ensured that everyone knew that they were her ‘favorite’. She never took a side and always held onto her hope that we would do our best to maintain her wishes and stay together as her family once she left us. She enjoyed antique shopping, plays, traveling, camping, volunteering and her senior trips. She was always on the go!

Phyllis is dearly missed by her daughters, Jacki (Steve) Stalboerger, Roni Hopkins, Robin (Chris) Larson-Suerig; sons, Michael (Sheila) Daraitis, Paul (Holly) Daraitis; the Cat; 17 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many more family members and friends.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Claire Miller and Rodger Miller; and sister, Donna Miller.

Phyllis lived a life of giving and caring for others. Continuing that legacy, she requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Coon Rapids Senior Center, earmarked “Super Senior Scholarship Fund” at: 11155 Robinson Drive Coon Rapids, MN 55433.

A memorial for Phyllis will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55448, with the visitation starting at 10:30am and followed by the service at noon. There will be a luncheon at 1pm for invited guests at Acapulco Restaurant, 13753 Ibis St NW NE, Andover, MN 55304.
