One of the things I will always remember about Ron is when we were little kids, over at Grandma and Grandpa's house, he would always choose to take time to hang out with us kids. He would get down on the floor and play with us and read us books. That had a big impact on my life and I made the decision then that I wanted to be that kind of parent someday -- to really take time and play with my kids and choose them over anything else.  Ron was such a kind, gentle and genuine person and he will be deeply missed.

Take me back through time, to dreams left long behind, that once were yours and mine....

Thanks, Ron, for being my friend over all these years:

sharing a locker in high school, 
sharing your dreams of working for the FBI while writing the great american novel, a hit song and delivering the Tonight Show monologue,
letting me jump out of your moving car,
trying to catch up to Pat in the jazz band,
standing beside me at my wedding (oh wait that was Robin)
plotting world domination in a game of RISK until 4:00 in the morning,
pondering the mysteries of the Bible,
inviting me into your music in the basement where my dad shared so much of his music,
showing my family your boyhood neighborhood in Duluth and exploring the north shore together, 
great family times,
and lending your awesome guitar riffs to my bucket list CD.

You are in my prayers everyday.

Ron would have been proud of the eulogy given by Matt, Rhonda and Sam.  (He would have also pointed out that it took all three of them to do something that he was so good at doing.)  Their memories and stories really brought out the things that made Ron so special.  He was thoughtful, sincere, sensitive to others, intelligent and genuine.

We had so many fun times with you guys over the years; going dancing, game nights with our group, New Years Eves; but the one I enjoyed the most was the night that we were over at your house and I found out Ron could play the guitar.  It took some prodding but he finally agreed to play for us.  It was so relaxing listening to him play and sing for hours and he did such a beautiful job.  What a talent!

Ron was a good friend.  I will miss the discussions we had on so many different topics; lawns, politics, history and current events.  Even though we didn't always have the same viewpoint, we always had a good civil discussion, which I really enjoyed.  But most of all, I will miss the periodic voicemails I would get from Ron.  "Hi Scott.  This is Ron.  There is a great show on the History Channel that I think you would really like.  It is called... and it is on at 8PM on Sunday."  He was right.  I did enjoy them.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  Ron was one in a million!

Ron was one of the nicest persons I have ever met.  I really enjoyed our long visits we had outside whether it was in the summer or in the winter. Especially enjoyed watching Ron dance in the cold winter snow with Buddha last year during our prolonged winter.  I miss his wonderful stories and his robust laugh!  He is truly missed as a friend and neighbor.

Peg and family, I'm truly sorry about loss of Ron. Over the years I grew to appreciate Ron's unique view of life. I was into hunting, fishing and sports where Ron was into music, writing and the meaning of life. Ron enjoyed discussing topics not in a right/wrong style but more of a debate where both sides of a topic were discussed and information exchanged. I always viewed topics differently after talking with Ron.

In recent years Ron became my go to buddy. He was always available for an unannounced visit and very interested in any life drama that I had encountered. We shared many a visit and our talks were sometimes aided by the likes of Mr. Beam or Mr. Daniels. Ron was always available on Saturday night to watch Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm". It is these times that I will truly miss but most importantly I will miss Ron being Ron.

Ron, forgive me for not being as elegant with words as you.

Peggy, thank you so much for sharing Ron with me for the years we had to work together. I hold the memory of our face sticky  (sad face and happy face) which one we would share each day he usually got the happy one but watch out if he had the sad one. I have my memory of the (five hour drink) and how I have never laughed so much. I still have his phone number I would  call him when times got really hard at work he could always make me laugh. He will be one person I will always have a place in my heart for. take care peg and know he is is with us still

Peggy always said, "Ron's the kindest man I ever met," and I agree. Ron was a gentle, wonderful man, For a number of years I commuted with Ron and Peggy and was privy to many musings, ponderings, Sienfeld quotes, Larry David stories (Peggy and I would groan), conspiracy theories, and trivia. He was funny, and he was fond of pointing out the absurdities of life. 

He once came to pick up Peggy and, as I wandered over to the car, I was captivated by a song that was playing. I asked who that artist was - he was wonderful and I'd never heard the song before. Ron blushed and ducked his head. Peggy said, "That's my guy."

Our world is less now that Ron is gone, but he's probably singing duets with Eddy Arnold, his favorite artist. 

Love you, Ron. Farewell, until we meet again.

Ron was a wonderful guy. My heart and prayers go out to his family.

There just are no words.  He touched so many in his life.  We are all that much better for having known him, and that much worse for not being able to have him still.

Ron truly was the nicest, calmest, most easy going guy. We shared many talks about things he was into and would listen intently on things I would talk about. He was a great listener. Between the two of us we pretty much figured out all that was wrong in CSD and what to do to fix the issues. He had a very good sense of humor and loved the nuances of the English language. I used to enjoy when I could to see him get a little riled about something as his riled was still so sweet and mild.

Of all the people I have met in my years in the county, he was the most honest, kind man I have met. Will truly miss him but am glad I got to know a little bit of him

I'm proud to say that I could call Ron Hart my friend. He was one of the kindest people I ever met. It's a shame that he wasn't able to enjoy his retirement for longer than he did. My sympathy to his family.

Was very sad to hear of Ron's passing.  Nicest guy I've worked with these past 15 years at Child Support.  Always went out of his way to smile and say hello.

It was an honor and a privilege to have known Ron.    He always had a smile on his face when we'd meet in the hallways at work or in the skyway, and he was one of those rare people who brightens your day no matter how frustrating things may be on the job.    Such a shame to lose him so soon....

Ron truly was a wonderful man.  He touched many peoples' lives.  Knowing Ron he would not take credit for doing that or admit that he did, but he definitely did.

Peggy, my deepest condolences to you and your family. Hope it's OK if I say a couple things about Ron's involvement in music. Besides being a genuinely kind and gentle person, Ron was a very fine musician. Besides playing guitar he was a very good saxophonist and a member of Time of Arrival, the very first jazz group of any kind at Coon Rapids Sr. High School. We shared a lot of great music back then:)

As some of you may or may not have heard, my dad was diagnosed with esophageal cancer late last year.  After a tough battle, it finally became too much and he passed away earlier this week.

It's really tough to put into words what my dad meant to me.  I am who I am today because of him.  Anyone who knows my idiosyncrasies or odd sense of humor that have met him and probably thought, Oh, it all makes sense now!

He always tried to pass his knowledge down to me, whether it was how to change a flat tire (he was oddly proud of this), to patiently coaching me and a bunch of other crazy kids on baseball or basketball teams, various conspiracy theories, how everything in the world relates to a Seinfeld episode, or the many attempts to teach me guitar.  He would love to pretend to understand the subtle differences in whiskey, he was always a gracious host, and, for better or worse, was always the last one to leave a party (so now you know where I get it from!).  But, the best thing I ever learned from him was something he probably didn't even realize he was teaching me.  He showed me how to be a good person.  Thank you for everything, Dad. I love you.

So sorry to hear of Ron's passing while I was out of town.  He was a great coworker. Always had a smile, a good word and did everything he could to help our clients.  Going beyond what was required was common for him.  I always enjoyed our conversations and his assistance. I am so glad I saw him (and Peggy) a few months ago at Boston's and had a chance to chat.

Ron will truly be missed! I really enjoyed working with him on our team in child support for many years. I particularly enjoyed his sense of humor which we all needed in our job as well as his stories of past adventures. Every day seemed brighter when Ron was in the room. I met Ron when he started working in Child Support for Hennepin County.  Fate determined that I was lucky enough to be the seasoned worker assigned to help him learn the ropes.  It is one of the wonders of the world that we were successful at the learning/teaching thing as we would spend so much of our time laughing. 
He had so many funny stories to share about his family - he loved all of you so very much and was proud to be Peg's husband, Andy and Bug's dad, a brother to his siblings, and a father-in-law when the kids got married.  When he found out he was going to be a grandpa, he was walking on air. He always glowed when he shared stories about you.
I count myself blessed to have been fortunate enough to have known Ron and to have shared in his warm friendship.  We all know that we now have an angel watching over us.

Please accept my deepest sympathy.  I worked with Ron in Child Support.  Ron was kind, softspoken and intelligent.  He'd come to my desk each morning for the word of the day.  Many times he would say the word before I gave him a clue!  I enjoyed our visits.  He had a wonderful smile especially when he'd tease me about my obsession with giraffes.  I'm so glad our paths met and I got to know Ron as he was a special man.  He will be missed.

How many ways are there to say what a great man Ron is.  I can't say "was", it just doesn't seem true that he has left.  Ron is a true example of a "gentleman".  His kind, thoughtful way of talking with you always made the day that much brighter.  A gentle soul has left us and the world is that much dimmer because of it.

My friendship with Ron goes back more than 50 years. He was truly one of the good guys, and he will be missed. Peg, Andy and Bug, you have my deepest sympathy.

i just wanted to send deepest condolences to you guys and the rest of your family from Jenelle and I on the passing of Ron. needless to say, even though we didn't know him that well we were both deeply saddened by his death and were glad to have met him the couple of times that we did. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy (a top bloke as we'd say down here) who was just super excited to meet and talk to some boring old Aussies on holiday. Ron was one of the nicest people I have ever worked with at Hennepin County.  Kind, gentle, caring are the words that come to mind when I think of him. All of those things, but add to that a wicked, but never mean, sense of humor. He could tell a story that would have his co-workers laughing so hard they would be gasping for breath !  His love for his children was apparent, talking about them with great affection, worrying as they went through each stage of reaching adulthood. He and Peg seemed inseparable. When talking about a previous weekend, it would always begin with, "Peg and I ..."  He truly was a family man, a nice man, and a caring person. He will be missed by all who knew him.
