Ronald Claude Loecken

Ron was born in Greenwald, Minnesota to Henry (Alphonse) Loecken and Lucille (Hinnenkamp) Loecken. Ron grew up and attended Melrose High School in Melrose Minnesota. He joined the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged. He was very proud to serve his country and was very patriotic. Upon his return he worked several jobs, before his brother Jerry helped him to get into the printing business. He worked for different shops over the years with the last shop being Shopko. He met his sweetheart at a dance at the New Munich ballroom on St. Patrick’s Day. They got married and went on to have three girls Lisa, Pamela and Barbara. The family got into showing horses and would spend summer weekends going to those shows and managing a boarding stable called Tack from Mack, that later switched the name to Coon Creek Stables. If Ron did not pick on you or give you a nickname, he did not like you. He was forever a jokester, he would repeat Dad jokes and quirky little phrase all the time. Ron always loved fast old cars. At one point he started fixing up old cars and ran across one of his favorites a 440-Six Pack Plum Crazy Road Runner. And later drove his dream car a 1941 Plymouth Business Coupe. He is a proud member of Midwest Mopar and liked to go to car shows. He loved to spend hours out in the garage tinkering with the cars and fixing stuff. If you needed help dad was always willing to try and help fix it. He would rather fix something then buy something new. It is still good just need a little fixing up, was his moto.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Nelson) Loecken; his son, Baby Loecken; parents, Henry (Alphonse) Loecken and Lucille (Hinnenkamp) Loecken; sisters, Rosalyn (Loecken) Breth and Susan (Loecken) Issacson.

Ron is survived by his three daughters, Lisa Loecken, Pam (Chris Koele) Thomas, and Barb Loecken; three grandchildren, Travis Thomas, Manley Merchlewicz, and Bethany (Shane Willats) Merchlewicz; four great grandchildren, Emilee Pratt, Elaina Pratt, Adalynn Thomas, and Charlie Thomas; Brothers, Jerry (Joann) Loecken, Chuck (Angie) Loecken, James (Mary) Loecken; Sisters, Shirley (John) Adrian, Nettie Spaeth.

Shared Services with his wife Nancy will be held on August 1st, 2026, with Visitation at 10am and Mass at 11am at Church of Sant Peter in Forest Lake with luncheon to follow at the American Legion 225.
