Sandy was born in Minneapolis, MN, on September 26th, 1961. She graduated from Blaine Senior High in 1980. She met the love of her life, Durk Hagen, in 1977. They married in 1986, and moved to Andover, MN, where they had two beautiful daughters. Sandy worked as a pharmacy technician for Snyders and Walgreens for 30 years. In her free time she enjoyed baking cookies, gardening, and hunting for agates. She loved sunshine and campfires. She spent the summers at the lake or at the racetrack, and the winters ice fishing with her husband. But her absolute favorite was spending time with her five grandchildren. Sandy was the most loving and compassionate woman. She always had a smile on her face, and lit up every room she walked into. She was loved dearly, and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Dean Hanson; and Step-Mother, Barb Hanson; Mother, Nina Campeau; and Step-Father, Frank Campeau.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Durk Hagen; Daughters, Heather (Ethan) Eng, Amanda (Chris) Johnson; Grandchildren, Oliver, Owen, Jax, Kimberly, and June; Sisters, Nancy Hanson, Cheryl (Darby) Miller; Brother, Russell (Dawn) Hanson.
A Celebration of Sandy's Life will be held on Friday, May 15th, at Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd in Coon Rapids, MN, with visitation at 10am and service at 11am. A private luncheon will take place after the service (by invitation).
