Born on January 27th, 1939, Steve was a cherished Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend. He was known for his warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. His laughter could light up a room, and his kindness touched the lives of everyone lucky enough to know him.
Steve had a love for fishing, hunting, hockey, golf, dancing, and celebrations. Above all, he valued family —always the first to offer support, share a meal, or tell a story that brought comfort and joy. There are countless stories and fond memories of Steve that will continue to inspire and comfort us.
He was preceded in passing by his son, Stephen Jr.; former wife, Dianne Tell (Carlson); parents, Stephen and Helen Tell; sisters, Janice, Susan, and Karen.
Steve is survived by his children, Julia (Michael) Schutt, Michael (Jennifer) Tell, David (Morgan Stephenson) Tell; six grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Darryl) Natz; nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends.
Please join us to celebrate Stephen’s life on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN. Visitation will be held at 10 am, with the service at 11 am and a luncheon to follow. Interment will take place at Epiphany Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
