Virginia Marguerite (Curtis) Adair was born in Chicago, IL on July 13, 1938. The family moved to Brainerd, MN when she was five years old. After graduating from Brainerd High School, she went on to two years of junior college and additional nurses training in the Twin Cities to become an LPN. During this time she met John (Jack) Adair and they married on July 21, 1962. They were married 58 years, and spent 56 of those years in the same house in Coon Rapids, raising their two daughters, Amy and Jane.
Virginia was proud to be the first nurse, along with two doctors, who started the Fridley Medical Center clinic, and she spent 37 years there. She had a caregiver’s heart, which shone through even to the very end, wiping away other’s tears as final goodbyes were said.
Virginia chose to serve God at a young age, and that remained evident throughout her life. She so enjoyed fellowship with her friends in Christ, whether near or far. She sacrificed much of herself to teach her family that serving God is right, and to share her love for God with others. She had a spirit of Love that was undeniable, and in the end when Dementia had stripped away so much, the Love in her heart manifest more strongly than ever.
Her greatest Earthly joy was her family and watching it grow.
She spent the last year and a half residing at Glenfields Living with Care, in Glencoe, MN, in the Memory Care unit, where she received the excellent love and care that she required. She passed away the morning of December 26, 2020, surrounded by family.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her but especially her family:
Husband John (Jack) Adair, Brother Robert Curtis, Daughters Amy (Ted), Jane (Greg), Grandchildren Chase Eckel, Emily Brown (Daniel), Ethan Eckel, Elana (Mark) Johnson, Ember Eckel, Great-grandchildren Fiona, Cove and Silas Eckel.
