OBITUARY
Ann S. Nuzzi
November 29, 1946 – December 23, 2020
Please note: Our Pandemic regulations follow Mrs. Nuzzi's obituary...
Ann Nuzzi, a lifelong resident of Copiague, L.I., died Wednesday, December 23rd, at the age of 74 years.
Ann was born in Brooklyn to her late parents, Anthony and Ann Zappola. She grew up on Long Island, and graduated from Copiague High School. At a cousin's graduation party, she met her beau and future husband, Dominick Nuzzi. In early 68 with her beau turned soldier, the young lovebirds eloped along with dear friends in North Carolina. They lived with Ann's parents for a time, then moved into their own home- first on Caboto Avenue, then eventually settling into their longtime home on Florida Avenue, where they raised their own family.
She worked for the local delicatessen as their head cook. Dominick coached Baseball with Copiague Youth League and Ann helped run.....the hut. Ann loved to cook, play cards, and entertain family and friends on all occasions. One would say the coffee was always on and the door always open. Her family describes Ann as a beloved woman who loved all and will be truly missed.
In addition to her late parents, Anthony and Ann, Ann is predeceased by her sister, Rosemary Zappola. Surviving is her beloved family -- her husband, Dominick; her children - her daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Robert Stegemann; and her son and daughter-in-law, Dominick and AnneMarie Nuzzi. Also surviving are her grandchildren - Timothy (Emma) Stegemann, Stephanie Stegemann, Saige Nuzzi, Jillian Stegemann, Emma Nuzzi and Jack Nuzzi; her great-grandchildren - Olivia Stegemann and another little one soon expected; her brother, Robert Zappola and her uncle, Carlo Saracino.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Sunday, December 27th from 2:00 - 4:30 and 7:00 - 9:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, December 28th at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption R.C. Church in Copiague. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
PANDEMIC PROTOCOLS: For all of our safety, we strictly adhere to the Governor's mandates for funeral homes. REAR ENTRANCE ONLY - the front entrance is closed at this time.
