Barbara Ann Aiello (nee Fister), 88, of Copiague, NY, beloved wife of the late Vincent Aiello, passed away peacefully in her home in Cincinnati, OH on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Barbara was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 21, 1936 to Charles and Marie Fister. Upon graduation from St. Joseph High School in Brooklyn, NY, she worked at the Budget Bureau in New York City where she met Vin. They were married at St. Lucy’s Church in New Jersey on May 5, 1956 and relocated to Copiague, NY (Long Island) in 1964 raising their family there.
Barbara worked as a secretary for the Copiague School District, retiring in 2000. Many of her friends are from those years and having one life-long special friend, Cathy, for 82 years. She was active in her parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, as a volunteer at the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry and also volunteered at Dominican Village Assisted Living facility prior to relocating to Cincinnati to be near her daughter and family.
Her love for dogs was just as strong as her passion for reading; even stronger was her driving force to keep the family connected by planning family reunions every few years. She had the ability to always find the good in any situation.
Barbara was a woman whose unwavering faith, strength, and compassion left an indelible mark on all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Michael Aiello and his wife, Kim, of Manchester, NH; Dennis Aiello and his wife, Cecelia, of Bellmore, NY; Jeanine Pennekamp and her husband, Pat, of Cincinnati, OH; step-daughter Susan Squires and her husband, Chris, of Nottingham, MD.
