It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Francine Daubel, 78, who left us peacefully on April 2, 2025, at her home. Francine was a loving wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother, and cherished sister, who touched the lives of all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter, with whom she shared many years together. Together, they raised a son, Paul who married their wonderful daughter-in-law, Elizabeth. Francine was a proud and loving grandmother to Zachary, Courtney, and Liana, who brought her immense joy and pride.
Francine is also survived by her sister Sandy, who was a lifelong companion and friend, and many other family members and friends whose lives she brightened.
Known for her deep affection for animals, Fran leaves behind her four beloved dogs—Moomoo, Jojo, Caramel, and Happy—who brought her companionship and joy throughout the years.
No one knew that last night would be the last time anyone would get to see her alive. But even if she DID know, I'm not sure she would have spent it any differently. She literally at like a king-and did what she did best-give the people around her a reason to smile, eating her Burger King while wearing her crown.
Fran loved every bit of the life she lived, and life for others was made better because she was in it.
Fran was the most generous person you could meet. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who's ever crossed paths with her that didn't end up with a handmade trinket from her. She was the queen of crochet and could make anything you wanted out of yarn (even making a blooming onion out of yarn, when challenged, complete with a "to-go box!").
She was everyone's favorite Daubel!
She stepped in as a surrogate grandma for any child that needed one. She listened without judgement (but then again her hearing wasn't the best), and she always made you feel better about yourself at the end of the conversation.
Francine's love will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Copiague Memorial Public Library, 50 Deauville Boulevard, Copiague, NY 11726. When making donations please remember to provide a card or letter stating that the Donation is being made "In Loving Memory of Francine Daubel."
A visitation for Francine will be held Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00PM-9:00PM at D'Andrea Bros. Funeral Home, 99 Oak Street, Copiague, NY 11726.
