Francisco Lopez, a lifelong resident of Copiague, L.I., passed on Sunday, October 28th, at the age of 62 years.

Francisco was born in Lares, Puerto Rico, to his late parents, Francisco and Severina. The family emigrated to the United States, settling first in Brooklyn, then moving out to Long Island in Copiague where they made their home. Francisco graduated from Copiague High School in 1974. Lovingly known as "Moose" or "Paquito" to everyone who loved him, Francisco is remembered as a 'gentle' man. A guy who loved to party hard in his younger years, the birth of his son, David, brought a profound change in him. He adores his son, enjoying all the years they had together, side-by-side. He was a man with a great sense of humor, loved to listen to all genres of music but had a special preference towards Rock, Dance and Puerto Rican music. He enjoyed bowling, even achieving that 'perfect game' of 300 at Babylon Bowl. He also loved movies and coin collecting. In his years of work, he had a long tenure with W.A. Baum Medical Equipment Company of Copiague, retiring as Supervisor. During his tenure there, his love of his co-workers was ever present. He would lunch with the ladies, and when his son was due to be born, his co-workers gave him a baby shower.

In addition to his parents, Francisco is predeceased by his sister, Monserrate Ramos Alicea. Surviving is his son, David and his fiancé, Philisha; his grandchildren โ€“ Jolisha Mari, Alexis Michelle and Francisco David; his sisters - Sandra M. Ramos de Cintron; Elvania Peralta, Milagros Ramos, Migdalia Ramos, Carmen Rivera, Georgina Torres and Rose Lucena; his brothers - Luis Ramos, Alberto Ramos and Vidal Gonzalez; and his nieces and nephews - Nancy Gruber, Diana Segui, Nelson Segui, Lynda Segui, Esmeralda Cintron, Jose Cintron, Jahaira Ramos, Sahira Dianik Ramos, Carl James Smith, D'Angelo Almeida and Brenda Liz Eisenberg.

Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Friday, from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 p.m. On Saturday morning all will gather from 10 - 11 a.m. At 11:00 a.m., the Funeral Service will be offered by Fr. Al Pakiananther. Cremation will be private.
