

Mr. Ferrara was born in New York City to his late parents, Frank and Josephine. In his years of work, he was a carpenter in the construction industry. Gerard was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Copiague; being a Fourth Degree Knight, and a Past Grand Knight of the OLA Council 9267.
Surviving is his beloved wife, Charlene (nee Pagliarulo); and his children - Anthony and daughter-in-law, Kim; Michael and daughter-in-law, Annmarie; Gerard, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Lauren; Angela and son-in-law, John; and Frank and daughter-in-law, Stacey. He is the cherished "Pop" of Anthony Jr., Carlee, John, Jr., Antonina, Giuliana, Cassidy, Felicia, Paisley, Taylor and Aliana. He also leaves his brothers and sisters - Anthony "Sonny" (Sandi), Bernadette, Theresa, Michael, Josephine "Joy" (Ed), Frank "Butch" (Patti), Peter, Joseph (Laura) and Maryann (Victor). In addition to his parents, Gerard is also predeceased by his sister, Anna; and his mother and father-in-law, Anthony and Louise Pagliarulo.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 p.m. During the evening hours, the OLA Knights of Columbus will conduct a Service at 7:30 p.m., and Deacon Mike will offer the Wake Service at 8:00 p.m. On Friday morning, a Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:45 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption R.C. Church in Copiague. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery.
