What we harbor in the coffins,
is the grief dress.
What we love is left,
stays in eternity.
Irmgard was my mother's best friend, Irmgard, also known as Inga. She supported my mother where she could during the difficult post-war period, and this bond / friendship lasted until my mother died. I continued to communicate with Irmgard. She loved children above all else and I remember that she was the one who, when I was very young, showed me how women make up their lips red. Just right for a little girl's heart.
My deep compassion and sadness accompany her family today.
