Isabelle Marie Olivo Duran was granted her angel wings on March 29th, 2024. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Isabelle had impacted in a huge way throughout her 4 years of life. Isabelle’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were impacted by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which she lived. Her huge smile could melt the hearts of those around her and though she was not able to speak a word during her last moments of life, her voice and thoughts could always be heard. Although Isabelle’s illness made her appear sick in her last few days of life, she possessed such strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. Her huge personality will be forever remembered, as she would even befriend a stranger or someone that she just met. With her courage she led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. She could spend hours playing with her family and friends and cuddling close to her pink blanket that she loved so much. She enjoyed music, praying with mommy, playing games with her daddy, and reading stories. She loved the color pink and singing to “Dios Esta Aqui” and “You Are My Sunshine,” which would make her smile.
With Isabelle’s passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss her every day, especially her winning smile. She will forever remain in our hearts. Through her teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be her parents. We are so thankful Isabelle’s baby brother Mateo was able to meet with her in heaven. As they both will now be our family’s closest angels. Isabelle leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced her quality of life. Isabelle’s love extends to her wonderful nurses and doctors. There is a special place in our hearts for the staff at Cohen’s for their continual dedication, love and support; Isabelle was able to survive some of his toughest medical challenges. She will be dearly missed by all her special caregivers within the family as well. All of these special people, too numerous to mention, provided Isabelle with love and dignity in her life and also during her death.
