

She born on May 25,1940 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Jacob & Florence (Manning) Ott. Joan was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Joan graduated from Dix Hills High School in 1958. She married the late Edward McMahon in 1960 and lived in Amityville, NY where they raised their 10 children.
Joan is survived by 7 children - Daughter Joan Lumpkin of Pamplin, VA; Daughter Catherine McMahon of Ellerbe, NC; Son & daughter-in-law Steven & Michelle McMahon of Granville, NY; Son & daughter-in-law Frank & Theresa McMahon of Granville, NY; Son Richard McMahon of Copiague, NY; Daughter & son-in- law Bryan & Linda McMahon of Lady Lake; FL; Brother Eugene Ott of Pamplin VA; and Brother Richard McMahon of PA. She is also survived by 42 grandchildren & 25 great grandchildren.
Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward McMahon in 1996; Daughter Anna McMahon in 1996, Granddaughter Mary Bennett in 1998, Daughter Francis Fitzgerald in 2014 and Son Edward McMahon in 2018.
Joan was a strong willed and loving individual who had a vibrant personality who dedicated her
life to her children and grandchildren. She loved watching wrestling and Law & Order: SVU;
finding excitement in the twists and turns of the show. She loved to listen to Elvis Presley while
doing her puzzle books. She was a loud & proud supporter of the NY Yankees, NY Giants, New
Japan Wrestling and the Irish Rugby team. Joan's enthusiasm for sports was infectious and she could often be found cheering on her favorite teams.
One of Joan's greatest joys in life was spoiling her grandchildren. She adored them and would
go above and beyond to bring a smile to their faces. She cherished every moment spent with
her family. She had a heart of gold, her caring spirit touched the lives of many & her memory
will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
Joan F. McMahon will be deeply missed by her family , friends and all those whose lives she
touched. May she rest in peace.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Wednesday, July 12th from 2:00 to 4:30 pm and then from 7:00 to 9:30 pm. On Thursday, the Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Martin of Tours Church in Amityville at 9:30 a.m. with interment following at Amityville Cemetery.
