Joseph S. Lauricella

In his early years he worked in construction as a bricklayer. He later used his skills as a cabinet and furniture maker specializing in modern design using glass and mirrors. He eventually opened his own shop creating and manufacturing his own designs.

Although he worked hard he always made time for his first loves, playing cards and the horses. He made many friends in his youth and maintained those friendships until the end. Both he and his friends had many colorful stories to tell and some I'm sure that shouldn't be told.

While he excelled at many things, what he seemed to be best at was being loved. This is evidenced by the love he received from his many nieces and nephews and Godchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Surviving are his siblings – his sister, Concetta Schiavone; his brother, Dominick Lauricella and his sister-in-law, Rose; and his sister, Jean Ambra.

He also leaves his nieces and nephews – John (Eve Rose) Schiavone; Anna Marie (Abe Barnett) Schiavone; Josephine Brebner; Frances Schiavone;

Frank (Jeanne) Schiavone; Joseph (Auxilidora) Schiavone; Donna Ann (Bill) Muff; Rosemarie (Arthur) Hughes; Michael Lauricella; Robert Lauricella;

Gregory (Julie) Ambra; David Ambra; Tommy (Rebecca) Ambra and Donna (Matt) Dolan; and his great-nieces and nephews – Maria (Colin) Harmon;

James Brebner; Joseph C. Shiavone; Elena Schiavone; Brian Muff; Kevin Muff; Kyle Hughes; Megan Hughes; Henry Ambra; Elise Ambra;

Joseph is predeceased by his parents, Dominic and Josephine; and his infant brothers – triplets Joseph, Dominick and Angelo.

Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Sunday, June 4th, from 2:00-4:30 and 7:00-9:30 p.m. The Catholic Wake Service will be offered at 7:30 in the evening. On Monday, the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church in Lindenhurst. The funeral home will open at 7:30 on Monday morning. Cremation services are private.
