

Mrs. Parrino was born and raised in Brooklyn. She was introduced to her future husband, Frank Parrino, Sr., by one of her cousins. Frank and Josephine married in 1944, and made their first home in Brooklyn, where they began to raise their family. They bought their home in Copiague on March 1, 1964.
Josephine had much joy in taking care of children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for her love of knitting and crocheting, she made many sweaters for her family. She enjoyed doing Word Search puzzles, and loved collecting dolls and stuffed animals. Josephine loved attending parties, loved music and loved to dance.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank Sr., who passed in 2006; her sisters – Jean Giaccone and her husband, Frank, Susan DeVito and her husband, Anthony, her brothers Vito Fontana and Joseph Fontana; her sisters-in-law, Jenny Sanzone and her husband, Ted, and her brother-in-law, Anthony Parrino; and her grandson, David;
Surviving are her children – Frank Parrino and daughter-in-law, Heide; Salvatore Parrino and Angelo; Theresa Krupowicz and son-in-law, Barry; James Parrino and daughter-in-law, Leta; Ronald Parrino and daughter-in-law, Linda; and Joanne Forem and son-in-law, Keith; her grandchildren – Christopher (Debra) Parrino; Frank, III (Annmarie) Parrino, Julie (Michael) Cannet, Michelle (Stephen) Suchanek, Salvatore (Kathy) Parrino, Barry C. (Tiffany) Krupowicz, Susanne Sheppard, Kathryn Krupowicz (Steven Sanderson), James Parrino, Joseph Parrino, Cassandra Parrino, Ashley Parrino, Michael, Keith Forem and Brandon Forem; and her great-grandchildren – Anthony, Edward, Brianna, Kaitlyn, Olivia, Diana, Sarah, Emily, Melissa, Hailey, Brian, Kyle, Nicolas, Jossie and Bodie. Also surviving is her sister Frances (the late John) Buccellato, and her sisters-in-law, Josephine (Tony) Ricciardi, Martha (Joe) Vigiarolo and Lena Swellinger (the late Ronald).
Family and friends will call at the funeral home on Friday, February 13th, from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 14th, at 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption R.C. Church in Copiague. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
