Laureen Tuthill

Laureen Ann Tuthill, 74, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2022 at her home in Bay Shore surrounded by family. She was the sweetest, most loving person despite her struggles with chronic illnesses.

Laurie grew up in Amityville, NY and graduated from Amityville Memorial High School. Following graduation, she worked as a flight attendant for a charter airline transporting troops back from Vietnam. During this time, she met and married Dennis Umstead. They were since divorced and he preceded her in death.

Laurie lived with her oldest daughter and until the Covid epidemic, enjoyed attending senior activities @ Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Laura Tuthill. She is survived by her daughters Denise (Umstead)Stubenrauch, Heidi Umstead, Rebecca Madigan and grandson Randy Stubenrauch as well as siblings, Kathleen Tuthill Young, Willard Tuthill, Robert Tuthill and Jeffrey Tuthill.

A memorial service is planned for December 15 in Copiague, NY. Arrangements are being made by D'Andrea's Funeral Home.
