Mr. Blum was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador to his parents, Leandro and Jenny. He met his bride, the former Maria Delgado, in Guayaquil, Ecuador but did not marry until they took root in a land of new opportunities. He emigrated to the United States in 1990 bringing his daughter Jenny along with him. Leandro and Maria then married in 1991 and made their first home in Copiague 1991. In 1992 they welcomed Andrea to the world and then later had Christian and Evelyn emigrate to the United States within the same year.
In 1998 is where they all moved to a new home in Copiague and here is where they raised their own family. Creating memories and rebuilt the home to what it is today. He spent his career in manufacturing industry, and worked there making many friends until his last days. In his downtime, Leandro loved to play soccer in Hempstead and used to love being out in nature by rivers and lakes. He used to spend time with grandsons and granddaughter taking them out to parks.
Leandro was very handy whether if it was working on cars or helping friends with miscellaneous tasks. When he wasn’t serious or stern he loved to play pranks. He was a good friend to many and always brought a smile to people’s faces. He always was the kind of man to extend his hand without anyone asking for it. He was a good man to many.
Surviving is his beloved family - his wife, Maria; his children - Denise, Christian, Evelyn (Frediz Garcia), Jenny and Andrea; his grandchildren - Daniel, Evelyn and Fredis; his siblings - Luis, Walter and Julie; his great-granddaughter, Nicole and his father, Leandro. Leandro is predeceased by his mother, Jenny.
